No. 009, December 2004

We’ll never be able to apologize enough for the inconvenience we caused to our customers as a result of the labour dispute that took place in November and December. We do, however, want to make things right. For the rest of this year, we’re offering everyone 25-cent rides. Simply board the bus, deposit $0.25 in the farebox and ride with us once again. It doesn’t matter if you're a child, adult, or senior, a regular customer or a new one - we want to make this easy on you. If you’re holding a December monthly pass or a Fall Semester Pass, you can still use either for the rest of December and claim your refund for the period that you could not use it once December has passed. Simply bring the December pass to us at our office at 245 Freshwater Road to claim your refund.

A new route 6 and changes for route 9 in 2005
Effective January 3rd, 2005, we’re introducing a new route 6 that will provide service to the new shopping area on Kenmount Road. We’re also making changes to route 9 to provide more efficient service between the east end of the city and the post secondary institutions. The new route maps along with a list of streets that will be serviced, can be obtained by clicking here. If you have any questions about the changes, you can use our live chat service at Metrobus Dot Com, or call Ride Guide at 722-9400 and speak with an Information Services Representative.

Customer's Corner  A customer writes: Hello all!  I just wanted to thank everyone involved in getting the buses back on the road.  I was happy to wake up this morning, get ready for work and hop on the bus again. The fact that I was able to drop in a quarter and ride was amazing (I actually felt like I was robbing you guys).  But it is a very nice way to apologize to us loyal everyday riders who depend on you guys to get us where we're going. I guess the saying really is true: "You don't know what you've got until it's gone."  In closing, it's really good to see you back and keep up the great service.  Have a great day and I'm looking forward to riding with you guys again.

Metrobus responds: Thank you for your comments.  We too are thrilled to be back on the road, where we belong.  Our decision to offer 25-cent rides was a simple one.  We want to put something back in the pockets of our customers, many of whom had to make some tough financial decisions in order to afford transportation during the strike.  We stated when the strike ended that we will go forward making sure each day that our customers know how important they are to this organization.

Thanks for being a customer.
