15th Annual Metrobus/VOCM Cares Foundation Food Drive Customers are encouraged to bring along a non-perishable food item when they ride with Metrobus during the week of October 4-11 and deposit it in the donation container that will be installed on each bus.  All food donations will be forwarded to the Community Food Sharing Association for distribution to food banks across the province.  If you're spotted boarding the bus and making your food donation, you could win a 10-ride pass!  Help make Thanksgiving more meaningful for you and someone else by participating in the Food Drive.

Metrobus/HITS 99.1 Traffic Watch now on the air A reminder to customers to tune in to 99.1 HITS-FM each weekday morning at 7:58 to get up-to-the-minute information about service conditions.  The latest report can be downloaded from our website www.metrobus.com.  Just look for the 'HITS 99.1 FM' logo.

Customer's Corner  A customer writes: Over recent weeks I have had visitors to the city who have been shopping at the Stavanger Drive stores. There are no bus shelters available on either side of Staples or near Pier One Imports bus stops. The winds today were very high and cold for the visitors waiting there for the bus. I suggest there be shelters placed in such shopping areas, otherwise, it deters people from shopping in these areas and from taking the bus. Please advise if Metrobus has any plans for such shelters. Thank you

Metrobus responds: We have been actively seeking permission from landowners in the area to install a shelter on Stavanger Drive and we recently received approval to place a shelter in the Stavanger Drive area next to Staples. The shelter will be installed by the middle of October.  Like you, we'd like to have a lot more shelters in the city, however, land-owners aren't always as willing as we are to install a shelter.
