Your m-Card. Cool. The m-Card is an interactive smart card used to pay your fare when riding with Metrobus Transit. When you board one of our buses, simply hold the card in front of the on-board validator. The validator recognizes what type of fare or pass is on the card and approves or denies the ride, electronically, in about a second or two. The neat thing about the m-Card is that once you buy your first one, you keep using the same card, week after week, month after month. Value is added to the card by the user, at any of our add value machines located at our existing sales outlets, or you can add value to your card online at metrobus.com using a credit or debit card. Once your online transaction has been approved and processed, we'll add the purchase value to your card electronically, the next time you present it in front of an m-Card validator on any of our buses.
m-Points & m-Rewards. Really cool. Ride, collect, cash-in. Use your m-Card to ride with Metrobus Transit and you'll earn m-Points that can be redeemed for valuable gift cards from a number of different retailers. In order to earn points though, you must register your m-Card. You'll earn one point for every ride you take with Metrobus Transit to a maximum of 5 points per day using your m-Card. In addition, there will be bonus days allowing you to earn bonus points for riding on that particular day. Bonus days will be advertised through metrobus.com. Now more than ever, it pays to ride with Metrobus Transit.
m-Card Gold Club Customers who obtain 625 m-Points or more in a calendar year will automatically be enrolled in our m-Card Gold Club. We'll mail you out a new gold m-Card and we'll even personalize the card with a digital photograph that you provide to us, at no additional charge. But the greatest advantage to being a Gold Club member is that you'll earn m-Points twice as fast with your gold m-Card - instead of a point per ride, you'll accumulate two points per ride - your m-Points will add up fast! To keep your standing in the Gold Club, you'll need to accumulate 625 m-Points each year. If you are not able to do so, you can still use your gold-coloured m-Card when riding with Metrobus, however, you will once again accumulate m-Points at the regular rate of one point per ride. Membership has its advantages! Bonus points and transferred points from another card do not count toward Gold Card status.
Register your m-Card... To reap the m-Card rewards you must register your m-Card first. To do so, locate the serial number on your m-Card, then visit metrobus.com and click the m-Card button to register. If you don't have Internet access, call 758-MBUS to register your card over the phone. Registering your m-Card allows you to cash-in on these great m-Card benefits: Collect m-Points and cash them in for great rewards; Check your m-Points balance online at any time; A lost or stolen registered m-Card can be replaced for a nominal fee of $5.00 and the remaining rides can be added to the new m-Card at no additional charge; and, Receive an annual statement showing transit purchases for tax purposes. Don�t delay, register your m-Card now. It only takes a minute.
Changes coming to m-Rewards program Starting January 1, 2011, a number of changes will be implemented with respect to the m-Rewards/m-Points program. First, you will be able to redeem your points for m-Card reloads including 10-ride, 30-day and monthly passes. Second, we are implementing a maximum point balance you can accumulate before having to use your points. The limit will be 2,500 m-Points. Effective March 1, 2011, if you have over 2,500 points in your account, you will not be able to accumulate any more points and you will lose any points in excess of 2,500. Customers with high point balances are encouraged to redeem their points so they can continue to collect them and earn valuable m-Rewards. Finally, there will be a �price increase� with respect to m-Rewards going into effect in the new year so if you have been saving your points, you may want to think about redeeming them at the lower m-Point price before the end of this year. New prices wil be as follows effective January 1, 2011: $10 m-Rewards - 250 m-Points $25 m-Rewards - 600 m-Points $50 m-Rewards - 1,100 m-Points 10-Ride Reloads: Adult - 500 m-Points Child - 400 m-Points Senior - 400 m-Points 30-day & Monthly Pass Reloads: Adult - 1,350 m-Points Child - 1,000 m-Points Senior - 1,000 m-Points

Information Collected to Serve You

Order Process: to process your on-line orders, we require your name, billing address, phone number, e-mail address, shipping address and credit card information. We use this information to process your order and, if any questions should arise, to contact you about your order. In general, we will try to contact you first by e-mail and if that fails, or if time is critical, we will try to contact you by phone. We share this information, and only that information which is absolutely necessary, with those third parties that are involved in the processing of your order. For example, the financial institution that issued your credit card and the shipping carrier that delivers your order.

Subscription Service: we make available multiple electronic newsletters and other electronic customer bulletins. Should you decide to subscribe, we will send you this information from time to time. You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.

Sweepstakes, Contests and Surveys: should you decide to participate in one or more of the sweepstakes or contests that we may offer, the information gathered here is used as entrance or submission and as a way for us to notify the winner.

Cookies: Metrobus does not make use of cookies.

IP Address: by default all web server log files capture IP addresses, however, we would only use your IP to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site.

Privacy of Information: aside from the previously mentioned third parties involved in the processing of your order, Metrobus will not share any information provided by you to us with other parties.

Security Measures: Transactions processed in our e-Store are handled with industry-standard SSL encryption. When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us. For added security, we also encrypt the credit card number when it is stored on disk. If you are not the kind of person who worries about being hit by lightning as you're crossing the street, you probably don't have to worry that your credit card number will be intercepted on the way to a secure website. According to CNN, "The prevalent opinion...is that on-line credit card use is actually no riskier for consumers than traditional "low-tech" transactions." We order products online all the time, both as a company and as individuals. When we use a credit card to buy something online, we feel at least as safe as we would using one in a store or restaurant.
