m-Cards can be purchased and reloaded at specific sales outlets listed below or click here to purchase on-line. There is a one-time $5.00 fee on new m-Card activations.

Student Semester Passes are restricted to students registered in full-time post-secondary studies. These passes are available at Memorial University, Marine Institute, College of the North Atlantic and Metrobus Customer Service Office.  Student identification is required.

Student Semester Passes are only available at outlets marked with an asterisk. 

Monthly Passes are usually available for purchase at our sales outlets by the 20th of the month. For example, a May pass will be available for purchase by the the 20th of April.

Debit cards (Interac), VISA, and Mastercard are accepted at the Metrobus Office and for on-line purchases.

Riding Metrobus Transit is
easy with your m-Card!

Our m-Card is an interactive smart card that we use to handle all of our fare media, except for cash fares.  The m-Card is the same size as a credit card.  When a customer boards a bus, he or she simply holds the card in front of the on-board reader to the pay the fare.  The reader recognizes what type of fare or pass is on the card and approves or denies the ride electronically.

Because it's a smart card, you keep using the same card, week after week, month after month. Value is added to the card by the user at any of our sales outlets. In addition, you can add value to your card online at metrobus.com. Use your m-Card and collect m-Points that can be redeemed for valuable gift cards.

    Metrobus is committed to the privacy and security of your electronic commerce. For your full understanding, the following statement details our information gathering and dissemination practices, as well as our security measures.

    Information Collected to Serve You

    Order Process:  to process your on-line orders, we require your name, billing address, phone number, e-mail address, shipping address and credit card information. We use this information to process your order and, if any questions should arise, to contact you about your order. In general, we will try to contact you first by e-mail and if that fails, or if time is critical, we will try to contact you by phone. We share this information, and only that information which is absolutely necessary, with those third parties that are involved in the processing of your order. For example, the financial institution that issued your credit card and the shipping carrier that delivers your order.

    Subscription Service:  we make available multiple electronic newsletters and other electronic customer bulletins. Should you decide to subscribe, we will send you this information from time to time. You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.

    Sweepstakes, Contests and Surveys:  should you decide to participate in one or more of the sweepstakes or contests that we may offer, the information gathered here is used as entrance or submission and as a way for us to notify the winner.

    Cookies:  Metrobus does not make use of cookies.

    IP Address:  by default all web server log files capture IP addresses, however, we would only use your IP to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site.

    Privacy of Information:  aside from the previously mentioned third parties involved in the processing of your order, Metrobus will not share any information provided by you to us with other parties.

    Security Measures:  Transactions processed in our e-Store are handled with industry-standard SSL encryption.  When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us.  For added security, we also encrypt the credit card number when it is stored on disk.  If you are not the kind of person who worries about being hit by lightning as you're crossing the street, you probably don't have to worry that your credit card number will be intercepted on the way to a secure website.  According to CNN, "The prevalent opinion...is that on-line credit card use is actually no riskier for consumers than traditional "low-tech" transactions." We order products online all the time, both as a company and as individuals. When we use a credit card to buy something online, we feel at least as safe as we would using one in a store or restaurant.
